weather report

The winds are wurfling 'round the house tonight - we're getting a glancing blow of Alberto's. The power has been on and off all day, and the driving rain is beginning to flood basements (not mine!)and make for soggy, slippery ground. Today I'm glad we have the woodstove (which B doesn't hear too often!) - it's so nice to sit, toasty warm, and watch the rain stream down the windows!

Now when does summer begin, 'zactly?

I always wanted a woodstove. Now we have phony-baloney gas fireplaces, which do produce heat, but the fire? It's real flames but not real wood! NOT a fire, in my book! I want the snap, crackle POP of pine bursting into flame.

But the mess? That I could do without. It's nice in the fall, but by end of winter I bet you are Poke-Me-With-A-Fork-I'm-DONE with it.

And I just noticed you added me to the BlogRoll. Thanks!

Eh? (Going all pseudo-Canadian on you)Honey, you've been blogrolled for awhile now....
I have been known to lose.my.shit.at.the.husband for not sweeping. You know, when the kids are playing in the dirt with the spiders that came in on the logs....
The Harpy. Not a good look on me.

Darn -- Angela beat me to it -- I was going to give you the calendar answer too. Oh well, hope you're still dry and that sunshine is on the way.

I'm with you on the woodstove mess. I loved a wood-burning fire until I became the one that had to do the cleanup. Now? I'll take the gas log.

A couple of big blows
